Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm and Married At First Sight’s Ryan Gallagher announce engagement

Olympic swimmer Emily Seebohm and Married at First Sight star Ryan Gallagher are engaged.

The couple, who met on new Channel 10 reality show The Challenge last year, confirmed the happy news on Monday.

The reality star, 34, proposed to Emily, 30, at a roadblock on her farm just outside Goulburn, NSW.

He presented the swimming superstar with a trilogy diamond ring, which features a large center stone to represent their love flanked by two smaller diamonds to represent the couple.

“When you know you know,” Ryan told Woman’s Day. “I got nervous though. The box was a little bulging in my pocket. So either she knew I was proposing, or she just thought I was happy to see her!

Meanwhile, Emily explained that the couple’s accelerated engagement followed the theme of their blossoming romance.

“We knew last week (from The Challenge) that we had feelings there,” she told the magazine.

Emily and Ryan plan to marry in the next two years in a ceremony on the Gold Coast and are planning a big engagement party in the meantime.

The couple first sparked rumors they were engaged in December after Emily was spotted wearing another diamond ring on her finger.

This came after they went Instagram official earlier in the same month.

“Ryan is a gentleman and the nicest person I’ve met. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes us,” Emily said of their relationship.

The couple said they kept their romance a secret for months because they starred on The Challenge together.

“We ended up having the shit and put our own picture,” Ryan explained.

“We just did it, it’s our relationship and there’s nothing negative about it.”

Ryan shot to fame on season five of Married at First Sight in 2018, where he was paired with Davina Rankin.
