Rebel Wilson reveals awkward encounter with Meghan Markle: ‘Not cool’

Rebel Wilson has shared her surprising encounter with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, describing the Duchess as “not as cool” as her husband.

The 43-year-old shared the story during an appearance on Watch what’s happening live with Andy Cohen, revealing that she and her mother were introduced to the royal couple through a mutual friend.

“We went to Santa Barbara, met Harry — couldn’t have been nicer,” she told the host, who wondered if she had known them before. “No, we just had a mutual friend, a polo player, but Meghan wasn’t as cool, she wasn’t as naturally warm.”

However, Rebel admitted Meghan may not have been so warm because her mother, Sue Bownds, was asking personal questions.

“My mum, being Australian, asked her all these kinda rude questions like ‘where are your kids? and things like that,” she explained. “Maybe that’s why she was like, ‘Who are those boring convicts from Australia?’ I’m like, ‘Mom, don’t ask her that’.”

It comes after Rebel, who recently got engaged to partner Ramona Agruma, said she was “humiliated by her mother” by fans after attending parties a week after welcoming daughter Royce via surrogate.

The new mother shared videos on Instagram of the wild parties she attended with girlfriend Ramona Agruma, but deleted her posts after suffering an intense backlash. Her decision to go out at night was called “strange” and one fan said she would likely “regret” the post.

In a conversation with Bachelor stars Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne on their The uncut life podcast, Rebel strongly defended her decision to continue living her life as a new mom.

She compared her situation to that of fellow Australian Chris Hemsworth going to the gym without her children and noted that she had the worst reviews from other women.

“It was only a week before I was ashamed of my mother,” she recalled. “I was shocked by the reviews because Chris Hemsworth goes to the gym, and people don’t yell ‘Where are your kids?’…but why are they doing it to all the women?”

Rebel also said she wasn’t sure if she would attend the events, but her nanny encouraged her to go. THE Secondary year The star added that networking at celebrity parties is also part of her job, although it can also be quite “fun”.
